Pros

You’ll have enough time to spend with your family, thanks to flexible or remote work options (which most companies now provide anyway). You can work across teams or explore different domains — as long as you can handle both jobs yourself. A few good colleagues who genuinely try to make things work despite the environment.

Cons

No real career growth or fair compensation. You’re expected to take up more work and responsibility without any raise or recognition. Favouritism is common — those who constantly flatter the CEO get yearly raises, paid vacations, and other perks, while hardworking employees are ignored. Feedback isn’t welcome. Every year the company sends stale Diwali sweets, and you’re expected to post pictures on social media and give positive comments. Honest feedback is seen as being ungrateful. The company loves talking about branding and charity but doesn’t care much about its own employees. Employees have been demoted or reassigned to other roles without even being asked. You can build a team, but you’ll never have full control over it. Decisions like “Employee of the Month” or annual raises are completely opaque — no one knows how or by whom they are decided. The CEO often bad-mouths employees to others, and has even called team members names in front of others. Promotions, recognition, and respect depend more on politics than on merit. Raises are promised but never delivered — by the time you realize the reality, you’ve already spent 3–5 years stuck with no growth.
