Pros

Some of the long time employees are hard working and will teach you everything you need to know to advance. Was originally a family company with values.

Cons

The company starts everyone with a week or so of "safety" training. (a whole lot of old safety videos) This is where the concealment starts. The company preaches about its values. They say they put family first before work & how you should love one another. Throughout the company there's tons of quotes to build onto this concept. After you are done with a week or so of "safety" training, they won't allow you to use the tools you need to get the job done. Everything needs to be "signed" off to be used. Although long term employees will sign it off without hesitation because they are tired of carrying the workload. The company sets different job descriptions with different pay but it's the same job. Extrusion Assistant Packaging Specialist Line Operator Maintenance Line Operator Senior Line Operator ^ All production the same job although some people get paid more to do much less. (Guy/Girl) at the top (decent pay) don't have to work because of job security if the machines go down the company won't have anyone to bring them back up. Doesn't really want to teach anyone anything so they can keep job security. (Guy/Girl) in the middle (mediocre pay) try to learn as much as they can on their own to become apart of guy/girl at the top. Doing the guy/girl at the tops work and only teaching the bottom guy/girl enough to keep production going. (Guy/Girl) on the bottom (dreadful pay) gets the brunt of the workload. Gets no real training gets everything signed off because the guy/girl in the middle can push more of the workload onto them. Guy/Girl on bottom have few options: 1) Start learning enough to become a guy in the middle and pushing your workload onto someone new. 2) Continue working 12 hour shift primarily doing the blunt of the workload 3) Quit the job and be relieved of all the stress this job puts on you. Company has a hard time figuring out why it has large turn overs.

Pros

2 2 3 schedule Ability to move up if you’re constantly pushing for it Majority of management worked their way up through the company

Cons

Promotion process goes through corporate office, not within the plant Terrible turnover rate due to long shifts Tends to promote those who are not ready for supervisory roles, mainly those who are friends with upper management Those in supervisory roles tend to lack motivation to train others which leads to operators having to go above and beyond to try and learn more
