Pros

- 100% paid healthcare - Generous holiday gifts (approx. $100 2x year) - Summer Fridays - Most of the people are really nice (although there’s few left now)

Cons

- No job security. In 1 year they laid off 12 people and cut hours for 3 people without notice. July 2018 they fired 6 people on a Tuesday afternoon. It wasn’t private or discreet. 2 of the people were notified by the CEO in a company meeting. Look up RealMatch (Pandologic’s former name) on Glassdoor and read the review from July 2018 for more info on this. FYI I’m pretty sure the other reviews are fake - overheard some people say they were all asked by management to write positive reviews. The review from Nov 2018 also has to be fake as the sales rep in San Diego was fired in July 2018 - don’t think he’d write that positive of a review. - Take advantage of employees. During my time here they didn’t replace the people they fired. Instead they piled their work on other employees without extra compensation. This is their way of saving money. - They don’t have an HR person. There’s no one to talk to if you have concerns about the workplace, need career advice, etc. - Culture of micromanagement. This is a VERY small company. With recent cuts, there’s less than 10 people in the NY office Mon - Fri. You are constantly watched. If you are gone from the office for a day, expect the CEO to ask you about it in front of everyone the next day you’re in the office. Everyone is expected to be in the office from 9-6 no matter what and working from home is a rareity. You will be shamed and guilted by upper management if you work from home due to illness, blizzards, and appointments. As a result, people will come to work very sick because they feel guilty. Or they will have the “privilege” to work from home while sick instead of taking time to heal. - Although there’s an “unlimited” vacation policy (another way for them to save money by not paying you out on PTO days), upper management will guilt you for taking time off. This happened every time I took time off well in advance and for just a few days (although the CEO travels for pleasure just about every 3 weeks). In reality, you can take about 10-15 vacation/sick days. - Don’t trust upper management. People have been fired for asking for more responsibility and career pathing. They fire at least one person every 6 months. There’s a running joke that they’re going to run out of people to fire and it will just be the executive team left. - They move offices every year to save money on rent. Yes, they are scrapping for money in every way possible. Current office is on E 59th street. Far commute to sit in an office with 10 people. - Awful leadership. Not strategic. You won’t learn much. You definitely won’t grow as you will most likely get cut before that happens. CEO spends about 85% of his day checking the news, shopping for plane tickets, looking at art, talking on the phone to friends and family. Then gives these talks that everyone needs to pull their weight and work hard. Hmm.
