Pros

Relatively easy for a new graduate to get a foot in the door into a software company. OK benefits. Relatively stable job if you perform well. Brand value of the company and the once-great product that is sustaining the division I worked for.

Cons

Salary is very low when compared to the market. There is no room for growth. Many entry-level (associate) employees are kept in the same position for years together without any promotions or a proper plan for their growth; while the ones in management kept moving up the ranks. Whenever employees leave the company, there never seems to be a proper plan for their replacement and the ones who remain in the team must pick up all their slack indefinitely without any incentive for doing so. There seem to be no employee engagement/retention activities at all. The HR team is technically non-existent. The management lacks proper direction and haphazard changes are made to the team structure so frequently that literally everyone in the team performs their job disgruntledly. Some very unprofessional colleagues who lack basic people and anger management skills.
