Tons of talent that is managed very poorly - Senior Principal Scientist Pall Employee Review

Pros

Challenging workload. Stock purchase program can be lucrative, if you have a dime to spare after paying your "fair share" of NY's progressive ("oppressive"?) tax burden and inflated costs. The sky's the limit, but be ready to fight and scrape for every last reward and benefit. I got to travel the globe supporting my business unit. It was kind of nice to visit new places.

Cons

Where to begin? The company is as opaque (that's the opposite of "transparent") as a Mississippi delta. No defined career pathways. No insight into the mechanisms of promotion or advancement. No plans to mentor entry-level analysts/engineers/scientists for eventual internal promotion (i.e., Continuity plan). Sub-standard pay relative to market average, considering NYC metro / Long Island cost of living (unless you're an executive, of course -- Dear Pall HR: You're clueless!!!). Management has neither the initiative nor the incentive to aid or guide you along a career path -- Only politics and strong-arm tactics work.
