Pros

Honestly, I wish I could place one. Maybe that you're very unsupervised if you're into that.

Cons

Holiday Pay (only 7 holidays off I believe, and you will work them if needed), Leadership (Lacking heavily), Over-time compensation (forget about it), They don't invest back into their people, ESOP style company with a 5 year vesting period, no employer HSA contribution, No employer 401K contribution, Health benefits aren't good, They require you to get a physical annually that you have to pay for, they do not have boot vouchers, they do not have skilled working hands. Field employees are always running late/behind/do not show up to work; makes it really hard to manage. If you are a PM expect to be a full time estimator as well as write your own contracts per each bid submittal. Expect to manage multiple jobs and estimate multiple jobs all at once. The procurement team can't procure anything with you having to hold their hand and basically do the job for them. The upper management is constantly putting out fires due to the company is poorly structured and is constantly making mistakes. Upper management/ HR Team will set you up for failure; no one will take the time to properly train you. The estimate tool they use is constantly broke; always at the worst time. Co-Workers will never be in the office with you because they have a "Satellite office" in New Orleans that's really just a small room attached to a hair saloon that 3 individuals work at (sometimes). The fabrication shop area in hammond is pretty impressive honestly; but don't expect to be able to use your own company to fabricate your piping spools because likely they're "too busy" working for tank group or other contractors. The company is very divided, they claim to have a GC Group, a Tank/vessel group as well as an "Elite helical" group and a "U.S. Fusion/Rubber" group and they all work together as a "big happy family" which is a lie. Each company barely talks to each other unless they "NEED" you and they will need you to do their work for them and it's not reciprocated. All in all I DO NOT recommend anyone to work here (Seriously). If they approach you with a job offer and you're really desperate add an additional 25% salary to what every they're offering and counter it. Because they're desperate too and you will be working a lot as they are understaffed with actual workers. If they sales pitch you about getting an extra free 10 hours on a pay check don't expect that to be reality (never saw it). This is not a true industrial construction company. They mostly work in food grade and Exxon mobil Baton Rouge tank farm. Every job that you will bid seems like the bottom of the barrel; little to no information, no drawings/specs (they live off that). Work trucks are trash, they don't have legitimate tool trailers. They have a sheet for everything that no one will tell you how to fill out until you mess up and they yell at you for not knowing how to fill it out. Oh yeah, and the parking lot doesn't have lines painted, nor does the office have any landscaping. The company (Pala) means shovel in Spanish. If you place a 2-weeks notice just go ahead and pack up your office that day.
