Pros

For many years, PacificSource was a mission-driven organization with dedicated employees who genuinely cared about members and helping people access healthcare. The company fostered strong relationships, valued collaboration, and built a culture where employees felt connected to the mission. Many coworkers are knowledgeable, compassionate, and committed to doing the right thing for members.

Cons

After almost a decade with the company, it is heartbreaking to see how much the culture, trust, and sense of purpose have changed from what once made PacificSource such a respected employer and health plan. The culture has changed significantly in recent years. Multiple rounds of layoffs have created uncertainty, reduced morale, and damaged trust across the organization. Long-tenured employees with decades of experience have been let go, while communication around organizational changes has often felt limited or unclear. Many employees feel disconnected from leadership decisions and concerned about the loss of institutional knowledge and member-focused values that once defined the company.

Pros

PacificSource genuinely cares for their employees and offers full time remote working opportunities, which Boomers have taken away everywhere else.

Cons

I think about quitting at least once a week because the employees here are soul-sucking. Entitled and out of touch. Might be the healthcare industry, but employees here doesn’t seem to understand the concept of smart business and our viability in the market if we don’t shape up.

Pros

Coworkers who support each other, care about the business, and work from home.

Cons

The path of destruction and mismanagement that’s at the executive level is astonishing. None of them appeared to know anything about how the work is being done and no one seems to have a clue about what updates and changes are happening, let alone how to proceed with changes since they have no clue about the steps within the work, which leads to a ton of confusion across teams. Asking questions and seeking conversation within this “open door” company is risky and labels you as “resistant”. It’s common and is keeping the people who are doing the work from participating in conversation because of fear of being retaliated against or of being viewed negatively.
