Pros

The company has a large number of very smart, talented people. You are guaranteed to learn a lot while working there. Also, free coffee, garage parking, and on-site gym.

Cons

Where to begin... 1) It's very unlikely anyone from PTC management/HR is actually reading these reviews, seeing as the worst reasons for working there repeat themselves over and over again, with no solution in sight. This, to me, is an issue. It tells me employee feedback is not all that important. Prospective employees, listen to me when I tell you: you can do better! 2) VERY political atmosphere. Oftentimes, I felt like I was walking on eggshells just so I don't rock the boat of PTC politics. Made for low morale, high stress. 3) As many others have said, but it bears repeating: the company is singularly focused on the next shiny object, and does not seem to be invested in maturing its solutions and actually "talking the talk." This manifests itself in a number of ways, but most glaringly, it occurs with the company's fetish of buying (read: overpaying for) other companies and then failing to properly integrate those companies underneath the PTC umbrella. This leads to... 4) Too many layoffs. Because how else can you afford to buy your new, shiny objects without laying off a whole bunch of the people who helped you attain that shiny object in the first place? RIFs can be expected once, if not twice, per year. Your job at PTC is not safe, so why bother working there in the first place? 5) Minor detail, but the office is pretty darn drab inside...especially the bathrooms. Feels outdated, tired, and depressing.

Pros

Great people, customers, products. The culture has improved significantly over the past 5 years or so, and now feels like a relatively modern software company. Exec leadership is very good, Neil is fantastic.

Cons

Mid-level exec leaders, VP level, are still very political. Salaries are way below average.
