How to disenfranchise half a company - Sales POSaBIT Employee Review

Pros

The only pro is POSaBit has hired some excellent people for many of their (mostly non-product) teams. The fact that they are dishonest and deceitful during their hiring practices helps them bring people on and then overwork them. (Claiming to offer stock grants during salary negotiations when its actually options that cost twice what the company's stock is worth may not technically be a lie, but if people knew the difference they wouldn't sacrifice salary for it.)

Cons

-Leadership and strategy are non-existent. -Underpaid for the industry. (Pay when you’re hired is also not accurate since they’re constantly delaying commission for sales and bonuses for the rest of the company while paying those at the top) -Hiding truths from their customers and using Customer Success or Support as scapegoats. -Huge amounts of nepotism – especially at the product and leadership level. Just friends & family at the top mean no one to listen to customers or speak truth. -constant unrealistic expectations based on random strategy changes and blaming the “cannabis market” despite no effort to understand the cannabis industry -product doesn't work the way it's described and is increasingly full of bugs and stupid design issues since it only has to be “good enough” until the company gets bought

Pros

Great company in a tough industry. They make the tough calls on when to hire or not and manage their budget well. In a normal industry this company would thrive but given the challenges of cannabis it has been hard.

Cons

Cannabis industry is super hard to compete in.

Pros

It was fun while it lasted. Began as a get it done startup with big potential and ended with middle positioned company hitting their industry ceiling. I would describe the overall management as okay. They managed their cash flows well and did not over raise or over leverage like other startups. Good work/ life balance and fun technical challenges at times.

Cons

Stock options were worthless. They mainly promote from within, with a bit of nepotism and half of industry experts they did hire do not last long term given the changing landscape of the industry. This is a service company and not a tech company. No exit interview which speaks to their lack of a self improvement culture.
