Pros

POSIM is unique as a company in that it's more than 30 years old with an established and loyal client base and yet it feels like a start up insofar as the opportunities that are provided to all employees of the company. No matter what role you start in, there are varied and frequent opportunities to grow your career and grow as a person. Opportunities to take on additional responsibilities and to specialize in certain areas of technology are interspersed with consistent coaching and mentorship from company leadership. The folks who run this company understand that personal and professional development are the keys to running a successful business, and that workplace happiness is one of the most important aspects of personal and organizational success. This is a great place to work if you are interested in growing as a person and expanding your professional skillset, and for your commitment you will be rewarded with opportunities for continued growth.

Cons

Pros

I worked at POSIM for a little over five years. In that time, it started out as a wonderful place to work. The managers who led the tech support department, where I worked, were great. They had your back and it was a really collaborative environment. If you were interested in learning new skills, it was a possibility. I learned many, many things in those five years and met some wonderful people! The customer base was also really nice and it was a blast working with some of the clients.

Cons

Management. After the new ones came in and new processes from old management were implemented, it turned into a call center factory instead of the help desk for the software we really were. The execs showed little care for improving our situation and my direct supervisor showed no sympathy towards my specific situation. After the years of effort I put in, I was unceremoniously let go without a real reason. The management that was there when I was let go was a bit toxic and they made things feel somewhat hostile. Additionally, the pay was minimal for the amount of work everyone put in, you never got enough PTO and the benefits were expensive for the given choices. Career opportunities were also minimal. I was an exception to that, rather than a rule.
