POP Yachts Response
9yI apologize for your negative experience and appreciate that you took the time to list some concrete issues.
You are correct that your time using the sales software is tracked, and it is not a secret that a lot of things are tracked using the software. It is a pro, not a con. For those who like to analyze their efforts, its a great tool for self-improvement and competition. For those who do not put forth the effort, and would rather their efforts not be analyzed, probably a "con".
The "dead leads" have a way of coming back to life. Reps have been turning those buyers into sales, so it is worth it and doesn't take much time to go through them.
I would recommend turning off the ringer in the middle of the night if you do not want to be disturbed. I think its a pretty cool feature.
You are correct about the license for CA and FL. Those are regulations decided by the state and we are required to follow them. Selling real estate carries fees too.
You are correct that you do not get paid for a listing unless it sells. POP doesn't either. POP stands for Paid on Performance, and they are not going to start charging sellers to list their boats. The goal is to sell it faster using all the marketing tools available to us, than they can on their own.
About being overly egotistical...POP has reached some pretty amazing milestones is a very short amount of time. The IT Dept deserves a lot of credit for that, as do many of the individuals that have remained loyal while POP navigates the unchartered waters that comes with being a startup. POP is proud of their accomplishments, but realize that they can do better, and work towards that.
