I spent months repairing systems that engineers at the company years longer than me left in disrepair, bordering on professional negligence, and because I had to fight for the time to do this work, I was perceived as not tracking my work effectively. My presence clearly threatened engineers who were responsible for these failures and I encountered a hostile work environment, which I raised to HR months before I was terminated for insisting that we properly track my work and assign value to work I was being praised for, but not tracked for. I was fired one week after receiving a positive review. The problems I was working on are unlikely to be focused on and were directly related to the business' survival, so I would be concerned as a client about whether this business will continue to be viable. They may continue to limp along, but clearly had been doing so for a decade before I joined. The technology choices are frankly embarrassing and I was embarrassed to be involved in them at all.
