Pros

I learned a lot in a very supportive and caring environment. I had the opportunity to expand my skillset while working with a variety of interesting non-profits helping to achieve success. Through my involvement with PIE, many doors were opened to me.

Cons

Work was sometimes unpredictable, as I worked as a contractor and never knew when new contracts would be set in motion.

Pros

Planning, Implementation, and Evaluation, Inc. provides wonderful opportunities to apply and develop quantitative and qualitative analysis skills. Chief Executive Tania Rempert trusts her employees to do high quality work without micro-managing. In particular, she has a knack for assigning projects so as to both reinforce and build on already-held skills. Moreover, the work provides real-life experience that meets employer KSAs in a number of other fields, e.g. handling multiple tasks on deadline, excellent oral/written communication skills, ability to present complex topics to diverse audiences and stakeholders. Please note: I only gave 4 stars for "Compensation & Benefits" because, as a contract employee, there were no benefits per se. Compensation was absolutely fine, though.

Cons

Workflow was light at times, but that has more to do with dependency on grant-based funding than anything else. Tania tries to provide regular work as much as possible, especially to contractors with whom she has worked previously.
