Pros

The pay and time off around holidays

Cons

Unfortunately, this company is out of touch with reality. Their expectations for staff far exceeds normal limits. Be prepared to work well beyond your normal 8-4 hours. Also be prepared to go on useless home visits where most of the students live an hour or more away from the school. You won’t get him til about 6:30/7:00. The HBIC is a piece of work. They don’t know how to manage behavioral students so they let them do whatever they want all day. Their philosophy is quantity of quality with each student having about 45 programs. Staff barely teach and are only worried about collecting the data for the week. Also, be prepared to transport students in your own vehicle to locations up to a hour away. You should technically have business auto insurance for this type of work but they sweep that under the rug. So good luck if something were to happen.

Pros

I thought it was a welcoming atmosphere with everyone sharing the same goals to help those with autism. Not to mention that the benefits are pretty good.

Cons

Depending on distance (where you live), you might have to deal with long commutes; could topple work-life balance.
