Business outlook
Pros
The staff, especially the animal caregivers and medical team, were some of the most dedicated people and I know their pay did not match the amount of passion and work they put into their roles.
Cons
Working in a shelter is stressful, that is to be expected, but add in minimal to no support from upper management, high and ever changing expectations, AND low pay, you get the high burn out rate that PAWS is always facing. We were always short staffed, myself and other staff were frequently covering more than 2 roles, management is not quick to hire and fill in the gaps.
