Pros

- Truly meaningful and motivating work, with a global impact - Passionate, smart, and kind colleagues - Flexible hours and strong support for remote work - Very supportive of training and continuous learning opportunities - Good work-life balance and respectful culture - Annual cost of living adjustments - Great benefits

Cons

- Very few opportunities for advancement or long-term career growth - Raises are rare and typically not tied to performance - No organizationally-driven pathways for professional development - Internal politics often created obstacles for career progression - The organization will likely struggle given the current USG attitude towards international aid.

Pros

Staff had a more innovative mindset than most USAID-funded orgs I know, more open to new ways of working, better at adopting new tools.

Cons

In the end, they're still bureaucratic and the bureaucracy of their major funders (USAID and the Gates Foundation) means PATH is bureaucratic also, admin processes like recruitment are slow, and they're always chasing the funding instead of doing the right thing for the project and the client country.
