Different principal, same problems - Teacher Oxnard Adult School Employee Review

The students are adults- no behavior issues. The Hispanic students are extremely polite and eager to learn English.

No full time opportunities for work. It is fine for me, with 2 kids at home, but not for someone looking for more hours.

Students and classroom teachers at Oxnard Adult School are second to none. Students are self-motivated and a pleasure to have in class.

Poor choice of textbooks for English language classes. Teachers need to supplement heavily with other texts and materials to fill the gaps created by the current school adopted texts. Principal is completely out of touch with anything happening on campus. She has also divided the staff into two very adversarial camps; office staff vs classroom teaching staff. Coordination of programs has been delegated to two part-time counselors with no experience, leading to disorganization and lack of coordination between programs and departments.
