Pros

Some of the people are great and genuine

Cons

Absolutely no diversity. The majority of employees come from one business school in France and they make it very clear that they have shame in doing so. Toxic culture. Very junior people in management roles with no experience leading teams or being in the roles they are in. OTE for the sales team is completely unattainable and you won’t make anywhere close to what was promised. Favouritism is very clear and if y ou speak out you’ll probably be let go due to “poor fit”.

Hello, First of all, thank you for taking time to give your opinion and share a review. We are very sorry to read that your experience at Ovrsea was not up to the task! Here are some insights to highlight regarding your “cons”: Indeed diversity is one of our first concerns, here are some things we are working on: - Gender parity in management: we defined a process to support sourcing (talent acquisition hunting) focused on women for specific positions (particularly ExCo and Leadership) to achieve parity on our talent pool. - Background diversity: from a seniority level (2 years) academic background (bachelor or master degree) is not a criteria within CV screening, and we have updated specific scorecards for each position with predetermined hard and soft skills. - Disability: we strive to offer a work environment where everyone feels welcome We do not pretend to be perfect. As a smaller tech startup, we still aren’t where we aspire to be, but we’re working hard to be better. Indeed Ovrsea is a first company experience for current employees, including some managers: Why is that: we promote internally often. On the bright side, this means lots of opportunities for growth at the company. However, for some of our managers (half of them) it’s their first time managing. We are working to mitigate this through management training with an HR specialist firm and recently have hired several very experienced managers. We can understand your frustration to not achieving your goals as an Account Executive. Our industry and market are indeed demanding, it can take time to build a solid pipeline especially as we are launching a new market in the US. While many of our team exceed their targets, we are in parallel working to ensure that OTE is achievable and often exceeded across our sales team. We try as much as we can to encourage Ovrsea’s employee to speak up safely: - Each quarter we send an anonymous pulse survey about: global satisfaction, strategic vision, management and more. We share these results with “CSE” (which is a committee employee represented by actual employees) members and we take calls to action to improve. - Each month we send an “Ask Me Anything” session led by one of our founders: live answers of anonymous questions in a town hall setting. Indeed we can still improve a lot (and that’s one of our mottos) and we are doing our best to offer a great work environment. We truly hope that you will find your perfect match with your next experience.

Pros

A nice office with great coffee and snacks but when it comes down to it none of that matters.

Cons

Do not work here. I was completely lied to during the interview process about growth and opportunities. There is absolutely no management or sales leadership here. They hire based on fancy titles and fancy schools when management has no idea what is going on or how to sell a single thing. During my short time there we had one single team outing that wasn't even joined by leadership-no culture at all! I requested to speak with executives about all of these issues and was put on the back burner until being laid off two weeks later along with the rest of the sales team in NY. So many deals lost from NY leadership truly not knowing how to do anything. Leadership really should have been let go not those with the most sales experience & actually brought in more revenue. Leadership would also hide away in a phone booth all day long not engaging with the team. I could go on and on about the poor leadership.

Hello, Thank you for sharing your concerns with us. We truly value your feedback and want to address some points you've raised. We apologize if there were any misunderstandings during the interview process. We aim to be transparent, but as a startup in a rapidly changing market and challenging economic conditions, unforeseen circumstances can impact growth opportunities. We didn't intend to mislead you. Our founding team is available through Slack and monthly open "Ask Me Anything" sessions are here to encourage direct dialogue, including the option to ask questions anonymously. If you felt unheard, we are sorry for any frustration you experienced. Lastly, we are actively working on fostering our company culture and core values in our US offices. We appreciate your feedback as it helps us improve our approach. Thank you again for taking the time to share your thoughts. We will use them to continue our efforts moving forward.
