Pros
I went into this experience last summer without knowing anyone else who worked there. It turned out to be a wonderful experience. I'm an aspiring outdoor educator, and Overland was able to provide me with some crucial experience in the field. I've noticed that a lot of outdoor programs/camps often get stuck in their own traditions and are hesitant to make any changes, but the full-time administration REALLY cares about their staff, and they listen to us when we have suggestions to improve the programming.
Cons
This job is difficult, mentally and physically. Getting a normal amount of sleep per night will not be your priority. If you like being around kids and are open to leave your comfort zone, do it. There are certainly challenges faced every day, but it'll be worth it.
