Pros

From day one, I have felt very welcomed and supported in my role as a Product Support Specialist. My immediate coworkers are always willing to help and offer guidance, and I feel that my team lead and manager are always ready to listen and support our team 100%. Upper management and leadership take an interest in all employees and genuinely seem to care about them. Working for a B Corporation is amazing. I’ve noticed how much OverDrive invests in its employees, the community, and the world as a whole. The flexible hybrid work schedule has provided excellent work-life balance, which has been such a positive aspect of working at this company. I feel more productive and effective in my role because the work-life balance has improved my mental well-being. I hope to continue working for OverDrive for many years to come.

Cons

I can see no cons at this time.

Pros

Great work environment, great people to work with, solid benefits, and wonderful perks. I feel like I get along with most people I work with and am not looked down on by people in other departments, even though support is less glamorous than development. It feels like a lot of people at OverDrive are interested in getting to know other employees and are interested in doing so via fun activities, which I appreciate.

Cons

Sometimes there seems to a climate of worry about whether the executive team will stand up for lower-level employees. It's not an easy time to be a diverse group of people working closely with libraries, and it's not always clear to what extent we will be protected from the effects of that. I'm sometimes frustrated by the gap in compensation between support/partner services staff and development staff, even those at the same level of skill and experience. That being said, I think this is partially an industry issue. The only competitive wage for a developer is a large one, but a living wage with good benefits is competitive for Support.
