Pros

Exposed to a wide variety of projects but with limited and disorganized office structure. In general the mainstream employees are hardworking - just dissatisfied with working environment.

Cons

Expect unsupportive and absent upper management. Disorganized and chaotic transition from bid stage to project management and close-out. Benefits are minimal.

Pros

Friendly management and secretaries, interesting job assignments, and a good introduction to the design involved in construction.

Cons

The printers have a habit of jamming/breaking, which usually stalled my work. Sometimes the problem can be easily fixed, but other times it required constant scheduled technicians. Finding an affordable place to stay isn't easy if this is being taken from someone out of state.

Pros

My weekly Paycheck Never Bounced. They have a name in the Industry which will allow you to make contacts and leave for a fair wage. When I left, I couldn't believe literally every offer I got was 175% or more of my salary at Ostrow Electric.

Cons

I can't imagine a worse job. The family is divided in what can only be described as a brutal divorce. You get told one thing from own owner and then a different ALWAYS contradicting things from the other owner and you're always in the middle. I can't tell you how many expense checks were wrong or late. I would drive thousands of miles in my personal vehicle to go to bidding breakthroughs, job site meeting, deliver sealed bids, and I would have wait weeks for mileage reimbursement. If your own car breaks down, you have an accident, or need to get your car serviced, you're on your own. The owner will tell you "That's why we have company vehicles". But the company vehicles are always broken or unavailable, that's why they ask you to use your own car. There is almost no training. There is no way to improve yourself here. There is no career advancement. There's no new skills to learn, no way to better yourself here. You'll get more responsibility, but NEVER be fairly compensated for it.
