Hi there! Thank you for sharing your feedback. We recognise that career and salary progression are important to our employees, and we continuously review how we support growth and development across the business. As with many companies, progression is typically linked to performance, impact, role scope, and business needs. We also continue to review our benchmarks, frameworks and processes to ensure they remain fair, transparent, and aligned with the growth of both our people and the business. Thanks again!

Osome has a supportive and diverse engineering team that encourages professional growth and knowledge sharing. There’s a strong emphasis on building scalable, modern systems and you get exposure to a wide range of technologies. Flexible work arrangements and good work-life balance make it a comfortable environment.

Pros

Osome offers flexible working arrangements, including hybrid work with only two days per week working from office, and the option to work from home for the whole month of Ramadan. The team leads are supportive, transparent, and willing to acknowledge employees’ efforts and hard work. Colleagues are also helpful, which makes the working environment easier to manage despite the workload. The role provides a strong learning curve, especially for those who want exposure to accounting, client handling, and managing a portfolio independently. There is a high level of autonomy in handling daily work, which helps employees build ownership and time management skills. The company also shows some care towards employees’ wellbeing, such as providing mental health leave. Osome’s internal system, which uses AI, can also help make certain accounting tasks more manageable and efficient.

Cons

The workload can be very high, especially during peak periods. Since the role is client-facing, it can also be stressful when dealing with difficult clients or urgent client requests. The environment is fast-paced, and guidance can sometimes be limited, so employees need to be proactive, independent, and able to manage their time effectively. There have also been many changes and restructuring. While change is expected in a growing company, frequent changes can affect both employees and clients. KPIs that used to be achievable may become less realistic due to new changes and expectations. Salary is average compared to the workload and expectations. The company is also placing a strong emphasis on using AI in accounting work. While this improves efficiency, it may also create uncertainty around headcount and long-term job stability. Career growth may also be limited, especially for employees who are looking for a clearer progression path.
