Pros

PTO 9/80 schedule Nice office Friendly staff for the most part

Cons

If you work downtown you have to pay for parking, with cost of living rising, this extra deduction matters and isn’t great. Upper management can be condescending. Micromanagement. Can have dehumanizing ways of disciplinary actions. Not very diverse in terms of people. Burn out. Underpaid for the amount of work. Development opportunities aren’t taken serious and often forgot about.

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We understand that parking costs in a downtown environment can be frustrating, especially with rising living expenses. Like many businesses located in major downtown areas, paid parking is a common challenge. While we are unable to fully eliminate those costs, we do offer pre-tax Flexible Spending Account (FSA) options that can help reduce the financial impact, and we continually work to negotiate improved parking rates and options with nearby garages for our employees. We are also sorry to hear that your experience with leadership, communication, and development opportunities did not meet expectations. At Osborn, we believe professional growth and career path discussions are important and should be ongoing conversations between employees and their supervisors — not limited to formal review periods alone. In addition to regular check-ins, we conduct formal performance discussions at minimum twice per year to help support feedback, development, and goal setting. We recognize that employee experiences can vary, and we are continuously working to strengthen our culture, leadership development, employee engagement, and overall workplace experience. We encourage employees to reach out to Human Resources at any time with questions, concerns, requests for support in discussions with supervisors, or recommendations related to benefits, parking options, and workplace improvements. Constructive feedback helps us continue to grow and improve as an organization. Please feel free to stop by the HR department to discuss your issues further.

Pros

There's some great people at OSPORT. Most are genuine and willing to help in any capacity that they can. They are a very close knit group which can always be appreciated.

Cons

Leadership is a significant concern. The level of professionalism demonstrated by senior leadership, particularly at the senior VP/Director of OSPORTS can be inconsistent and, at times, inappropriate. My experience included direct communication that reflected a lack of maturity and professionalism, which was both surprising and off-putting. Additionally, benefits could be more competitive compared to industry standards.

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We truly appreciate hearing from individuals who have been part of our team. After reviewing your comments, we were unable to identify a Project Architect in our Tampa office who was employed for less than one year, so we are not able to directly validate or investigate the specific experience described. We would welcome the opportunity to better understand your concerns and encourage you to reach out to our HR team at hr@osborn-eng.com so we can look into this further. At Osborn/OSPORTS, we take feedback regarding leadership and professionalism seriously. We are committed to fostering a respectful, collaborative, and supportive work environment, and we continuously work to develop our leaders through training, accountability, and ongoing feedback. Regarding benefits, we strive to offer a comprehensive and competitive package that is regularly evaluated with the support of brokers, carriers, and external consultants to ensure alignment with market trends. As one example, while the national average for employee premium increases exceeded 7% last year, our employee contributions increased by less than 2%. In addition, we offer a wide range of programs designed to support our employees’ well-being and growth, including a wellness program, expanded Employee Assistance Program (EAP) resources, supplemental insurance options, and robust educational and professional development opportunities. If your experience with OSPORTS was not recent, some of the information you’ve shared may not reflect the enhancements and investments we have made in recent years. We’re glad to hear you found the team to be close-knit and supportive—this is something we are very proud of and continue to build upon. We remain committed to creating a positive and professional environment for all employees and appreciate the opportunity to address feedback such as yours.
