9ySorry I am taking a little longer to respond to your review than I typically do. This instance is unusual because it is the first time someone took a personal shot at myself and my wife in the "Advice to Management" section so I did not want to be reactive. Let me start by responding to that.... Yes, my wife and I brag about our newborn baby, just as I am sure your parents still brag about you and how most, if not all parents brag about their kids. That is not something I intend to EVER stop doing because I love my family. If that is not something that is in line with your values, it is probably best that you are no longer a part of our team because we view everyone in our company as an extension of our family. In fact, if you were employed with us, there is a very good chance you were invited into our home for dinner at some point. Also, we do bring our son to the office from time to time. We have worked very hard to put ourselves in a position to have that flexibility and to provide our team members with a welcoming environment (you can see another review from an employee who, as a mother, was pretty upset after reading your post). Not to mention, it is 2016. The women in our company love the fact that they are encouraged to have an awesome career here while also being a mother and having a family. If you felt that having the baby in the office for a couple of hours a week effected your opportunity in our company, we have an open door policy where you could have brought that to our attention. Next, the title, "Multi-Level Marketing". While there are several great companies who do this form of marketing (Mary Kay, Advo Care, etc.) we are not one of them. Did you have to make an investment into the products you were selling? Were you asked to recruit your family members or friends to come be a part of our company and to buy into it? Were you not a W4 employee here? Does anyone in the office make money off the sales their co workers make? The answer to all of those questions is "No". Like I mentioned, there are some great companies who fall under this category and I have some friends who have tried getting involved with some, however we are not one of them. A few other points you made under cons, Location to work: Walmart - while you were worried about the retailer you were in, myself and other successful people in our company are thinking about what a great opportunity to meet with a ton of customers in a high volume big box retail store who are already out shopping, in a buying mindset, without having to cold call or go door to door and how we are going to be able to come through for our clients! Difference of perception I guess. Talking to People and being told no - Welcome to sales. 100% Commission - That is false just like your MLM title. There is a base pay for every person in our company. Travel Expenses/Gas Reimbursement - Travel is always optional but when people do travel, the company pays for the hotel and when flights are involved, we pay for that as well. As for the gas reimbursement, because so many people car pool, go to different locations, etc., everyone tracks their milage and writes it off for $0.54 per mile on taxes. We also provide cell phone reimbursements for everyone and SEP IRA's to anyone employed with us for 3 calendar years. No paid vacation - When someone reaches a management role (1-3 years), they have full flexibility with their schedule and unlimited PTO. Not uncommon for someone to have to work in a company for a period of time before earning PTO, and when someone earns it here, it is second to none. No health insurance - Thank the affordable healthcare act. While we are no longer allowed to offer plans, once someone is employed for 90 days, we give a monthly bonus to help offset the cost. I appreciate your kind words about the training and culture but it was hard for me to focus on that when there was the attack on my family and so many con's that were simply false. I would love to discuss this with you more if you feel it is necessary.
