Pros

Only good thing I can think of is that the schedule is flexible and you get to pick the days you want to work on (you're not guaranteed to get assigned to a job on that day!)

Cons

**Minimum wage (not unexpected, really) **More often than not you will have to take their bus to get to the job location (sometimes up to 2 hours of travel!) **They only tell you when the job is expected to begin, you will not be told how long it will go on (after some time you will be able to guess how long it will last depending on the job site and the size of the place, e.g. Superdrug or Pound Land may take 4-8 hours, Morrisons, BHS and Top Shop may take up to 12 with different shifts. Sometimes, I started, say at 10AM and was only home by 2AM) **This year (2015) the guaranteed minimum hours have been reduced from 5 to 4 hours **The on-site supervisors couldn't care less about the counters, they will yell and press people to work as quickly as possible (sometimes, at the expense of quality). They get a bonus if they manage to finish the job in a certain number of hours, so, if say the bonus is given if the job is finished in 8 hours or less and it actually went on for 8:15 or so, they will just put 8 hours in the report, and you will lose the pay for those 15 minutes (not much, but it really adds up). **Sometimes, if you are unable to make it to a job that you have confirmed (you need to confirm your attendance if you got assigned a job on the day you picked, if you don't - it will be removed) because you are ill or any other reason and you call the office to let them know, the lady will get REALLY PISSED and it is likely that they won't assign you jobs next week **Last year (2014) December, there were no jobs ALL MONTH, so if you are a student and you were looking to earn some money over the holidays - tough luck.
