Enjoyable work environment at Orpen Franks

No cons that I can think of

The people are friendly and helpful.

From the outside, the firm appeared friendly, driven and as per various online publications, one which treasures its staff and prides itself on retention, what I had discovered in my short time in the firm that it was quite the contrary. The firm has a high turnover and staff are often left highly disgruntled with the treatment of some senior staff on departure. As an intern I was not paid. To hear the trainees are still paid the minimum wage is quiet shocking in this day and age. The firm itself boasts that it is a modern firm, but it simply remains in an stubbornly archaic state. As an intern, I expected considerable exposure to cases, but I ended up fixing lightbulbs, lifting files up stairs from room to room, replacing water bottles and printing briefs. I expected a some decent exposure to files as I had in previous internships, not this one. The office itself is in places in disrepair, to what I can only imagine it hasn’t been invested in for quite a number of decades, perhaps centuries.
