Pros

There are no pros to working at Origins

Cons

This was the most toxic, abusive, degrading, unhealthy, and chaotic environment I have ever experienced. The employers/owners will work their employees into the ground. There is no work/life balance whatsoever. You are expected to work 10-12 hours a day in extremely high stress environments with no breaks and no over-time pay on a salary which turns out to be far below the minimum wage. When you work here, you are objectified and treated as an object that can be owned. There are no boundaries of any kind. The narcissism and superiority complex of the owners is off the charts. The mentality of the owner is both chaotic and highly emotionally unstable and prone to being explosive. While her partner can be so narcissistically detached you won't be seen or treated as anything close to a human being. Many of the employees would be cussed out and verbally assaulted over the simplest of issues or for extremely unrealistic expectations. There is also the unavoidable toxic chemical fumes and voc's one is constantly exposed to here due to being required to smell each of the hundreds of samples prepped for analysis. I noticed many samples were also instructed to be disposed of in unethical means due to radium content opening employees to exposure. If there is a hell, this place is definitely it.

Pros

I enjoyed my time working in the inorganic department as an analyst. I was offered growth opportunities within the department including learning new instrumentation, analyses, and working on independent projects. I would have stayed with the company much longer if life didn't have other plans.

Cons

No cons from my end, but I saw a lot of co-workers in the organic department overworked and heard a lot of complaints all around about low salaries and feeling underappreciated. The periodic company-provided lunches were nice though.
