Pros
-You meet a nice network of folks. Most of them you'll never see again, though. - People think what you do is prestigious, so after a months long period of unemployment, someone will eventually give you a job because of this.
Cons
Most of the positive reviews come from Interns or Fellows who didn't have to work every minute of their lives here. For the organizer, it is a job that will totally and completely consume every waking minute of your life. slip into your dreams, and murder your dog. Work on a campaign if you have no interest whatsoever in being able to control your life. You'll work 7 days a week, 9am until 10pm/11pm/Midnight+ for months on end. You will cry often, question everything about yourself, gain weight (omg!) and question if ANYONE is reading any of the science that says longer hours do not mean higher productivity. I'd never do it again, but god help you if you do - be prepared, this isn't a casual job.
