Pros

Co-workers are super friendly and very knowledgeable. I have met awesome people, made new friends that will last forever. Definitely, my journey with OTCO has been professionally satisfying, and I am grateful to the people who have trusted in my work.

Cons

Valuable staff that cared about the culture and ethics are gone. Since 2020, OTCO has been reducing benefits. The company used to close its offices during the Christmas season, providing everyone with one week off in addition to vacation/PTO time. However, starting in 2020, this benefit was gone. There is no FMPL. You'll have to use your PTO's for that. Same year, shifted from covering 100% to 90%, with employees contributing the remaining 10% for themselves and their families- that was not good but "acceptable". In early 2024, OTCO announced an improved health insurance and salary adjustments due to a great revenue. However, months later, they delivered the disappointing news of reducing family benefits to 50% each, impacting employees with spouses and children under their health plan, leading to an automatic reduction in their salary. A lot of staff are getting burned out, new hires are getting paid very low.

Pros

Orgeon Tilth offers affordable organic certification.

Cons

Once you are certified by Oregon Tilth look more closely. They are cited as one of the most corrupt certifiers in the US. Management hires itself out to other certifiers to help them suspend producers for questionable violations. This is how Oregon Tilth makes money on the side.
