Pros
1.Good starting salary. 2. You will learn about ammunition. 3. Mostly clerical work. 4. You will be given a job profile irrespective of your technical background. Like chemical graduates in mechanical and mechanical graduates in chemical. 5.You can socialize a lot as these factories are highly overstaffed. 6. you will be stuck here for lifetime as work exp works only for DRDO and defense. 8. Good housing quarters./ facilities. Good townships. 9. You get a lot of respect. 10. Not a place for BTech/ MTech as most work is documentation/letter correspondence.
Cons
1. Promotional aspects limited for JWMs and lower. Good promotional aspects for Gp 'A'. 2. Most factories are at difficult locations. JWMs are expected to serve 10-12 years before before asking for transfer.
