Bad management and no future - Software Engineer OrangeShine Employee Review

I was able to work independently, my colleagues were great, and I also enjoyed being able to use PTO freely. Hybrid work combines working from home and the office.

We couldn't have lunch together with coworkers at the same time because our lunch times were different.

Great coworkers that sadly go undervalued.

The Owner is a micromanager that takes advantage of employees (especially Korean employees), and if they do not agree with him, they get fired asap. He rarely promotes employees from within, he prefers to outsource a hire, bait them with great pay, and fire them for any reason before the 3-month trial period ends. During my time there, we had at least 3 different managers each year… we only survived because we had a great customer support supervisor, that should have been promoted to manager years ago! Around the time I left, the company was going under because the owner was wasting his resources on new and old unfinished projects. He should have just invested in his team, and the OrangeShine website that had a great ratings thanks to the CS team. Sadly, he preferred to promote fast fashion vendors that were selling items that were false advertised and lost money dealing with a high volume of returns.
