Pros

Certain employees really do care about the staff and patients. But it’s too few to matter.

Cons

The ratio for RN to patient is 1:10 most of the time during the day, with admits and discharges happening. NOC is worse. MHWs are expected to handle aggressive patients without the support of restraints. Covid protocols are a joke, nurses station is open on the top, no way of handling an outbreak safely. Social workers all seem to have no idea what’s going on most of the time.discharges are delayed forever, and then nurses are blamed for lack of criteria in charting. Charts are all over the place, impossible to find anything, using “BestCare”, the worst EMR I’ve ever seen! Legal stuff gets missed all the time, licenses are at risk!! Meals and visitation include bringing entire units of psych patients down elevators, with one staff in the elevator at a time. Whole units in rooms with unweighted chairs, glass, sharp marques that say “6ft distance” although we were just all packed in an elevator… Payroll is constantly messed up, hours get deleted off of time cards without notice; people constantly have to watch their pay stubs for mistakes. Management is aloof and Un knowledgeable. The nursing manager hunter is a jerk, doesn’t give a care about his employees. The other one is inexperienced and condescending to staff. Neither one seems to know how to make a good program, so everything is always in shambles. Admin are all liars, selling the idea of a better culture, in order to get people in the door. This is just a money making machine, it’s no different than any other hospital, except maybe worse because it’s protocols are all naive and unsafe, and geared towards customer service and money saving rather than safety and patient care. Pay is garbage for the workload. Benefits are stupid expensive (dependents? Plan on spending over 160 a pay check for insurance.) No 401k matching!!! Schedule is every other weekend, and they will schedule you on days you tell them you can’t work. Multiple changes to your schedule every single schedule. Very little leeway. Do not work here. It will make you hate your job!
