Pros

Medical and Dental benefits are relatively decent and get better after 3 years (80% compensation from the company on cost). Friendly coworkers and not a lot of office drama. There will be free food once in a while, even if it's mainly leftovers from sales meetings. The external IT company they do business with is responsive. They are located in a decent area to go out for lunch, and they're mostly within walking distance. 4 day weekends on Thanksgiving and Christmas. 50% employee discount on wholesale products. 2 weeks vacation time, and after 5 years, it's 3 weeks of vacation. 5% of yearly pay Christmas bonus.

Cons

Training is not consistent/laid out/coherent. There is a lot of having to figure it out for yourself. Lack of manuals/general coherent compilation of how to information/guides. Communication in general is nonexistent. Workaholic office culture makes work/life balance unhealthy. Overtime is expected and not compensated/paid due to the fact they quickly put everyone on salaried pay to get around this. Their staff is worked past their limits before they'll consider hiring extra help. They frame this as being a hard worker and having high expectations. Micromanaging upper management that are unclear in expectations and overall communication on projects/work handed over. Can't trust management since any and all information will be used against you. No HR there since December 2019. The owner will curse out employees when he's extremely angry, and this is just seen as normal. He screamed at his controller over the phone when she let a person go 2 hours early (on their last day after giving 2 weeks notice, with no work to do o n her last day). The controller was also on her lunch when this happened by the way. 4 days of sick time for the whole year. Small company and little room for growth. Or if you do move up, you'll get screamed at and stressed out of your mind. No written contract for employment. Everything is At Will. They calculate the Christmas bonus into your salaried pay to make it look better. And they ask that no one shares what they got, because then it show's how much people are getting paid.

Pros

Be prepared to work hard at Orange Circle Studio but know you will be well rewarded for your efforts. From free beverages and free snacks to bonuses and fun events, there’s lots to look forward to. The work culture and personal life balance are second to none. The managers at all levels, up to the CEO are reflective and are always striving to improve. Daniel has built a fantastic team and it's refreshing to be a part of something that you know has a positive impact.

Cons

Pretty much every company is recruiting. Orange Circle Studio is no different and is also advertising lots of new roles, hopefully the company will attract more talented individuals and the business continues to grow with large aspirations in the next 3, 5, 10 years. Workload can be heavy at times, but that’s only natural if you’re trying to do great things.

Pros

Talented coworkers and 401K matching

Cons

Where do I even begin? I didn’t want to waste another ounce of energy on this company but if I can prevent even one person from accepting a job here then it’ll be worth it. Whimsocal Studios (Orange Circle Studio, Studio Oh, Saturday Sundae, and the dozen other names/brands that this company is associated with) is emblematic of everything that is wrong with corporate America. All the 1 star reviews of this company on Glassdoor are accurate and don’t even begin to scratch the surface of what a nightmare this company is. They will offer no training, pay you pennies, work you to the bone, expect the impossible, and then when you meet or exceed their absurd deadlines they will tell you you’re still not doing enough. Then they will lay you off (no joke). Extreme disorganization and incompetent leadership (from the owner of the company to the CEO to VPs) to the point where it’s laughable. They don’t have a single clue of all the work that people do here on a daily basis and they certainly don’t care. This company is failing its mostly fantastic employees that somehow still keep this company up and running. All to produce useless garbage in plastic packaging. For your mental wellbeing, I beg you to work anywhere but here.
