I can’t write any pros because they made me wait a month for a job that didn’t exist

applied for a position through Optime Group to work at the airport. I was told by Roxanna that I was hired and asked to pay £38 the same day for a DBS check. That was over a month ago, and I’m still waiting for a start date. During that time, communication was absolutely terrible. I was constantly told I’d receive updates “soon,” yet my messages were repeatedly ignored. Eventually, I received a message saying the position had now been filled — after a month of waiting with no job, no income, and my rent falling behind. I’m on Universal Credit and could have found another job by now if they’d been honest from the start. The excuse I was given was that their “client wasn’t responding,” but that doesn’t justify taking my money, my personal details, and stringing me along for weeks. Optime Group now has all my sensitive information — HMRC details, bank details, DBS info — and I no longer trust them with it. I’ve asked for my data to be permanently deleted. The most insulting part was Roxanna saying, “I know you’ve been waiting, but we have been waiting too.” Easy to say when you’re getting your commission and pay, while I’ve been sitting here eating nothing for dinner because I’ve been waiting on a job that never existed. This has been a complete waste of time, money, and trust. I would strongly advise others to be cautious before handing over any money or personal details to Optime Group.

One of the main disadvantages was the difficult communication regarding holiday requests. There were also months when I did not receive the bonus that I was entitled to.In addition, when DHL took me over from the agency, I personally had to follow up several times to make sure my remaining holiday pay was paid correctly. I was not given any kind of handover or information letter explaining what had happened, how many holiday days I still had left, or what steps I needed to take. I believe this process should have been handled automatically, and it caused me unnecessary stress having to write emails and chase up my own money. It also made me feel uncomfortable and embarrassed having to ask repeatedly about payments that were rightfully mine. I do not think this was handled appropriately.

Pick and choose your shifts

Cons

Very poor and little communication, you keep having to send emails and messages to chase things up and even then you get useless answers. Its like speaking to a wall i don’t think the optime staff have any clue about anything.
