Culture, culture, culture. Opendoor takes great pride in having a very positive and accepting culture. They do an excellent job with, not just hiring great talent, but talent that has the right attitude and work ethic. The people of Opendoor are great and the company is continually growing year over year. Another positive is the transparency and accessibility of senior leadership. I think they do a fine job of leading the way and give them major kudos for their continued pursuit of improving.
Cons
Like any startup that is growing quickly, there are always growing pains. Opendoor has them but they have the right people in place to get through these barriers.

Thank you for the note. I would agree - culture is a large part on what makes coming to work invigorating. This is only the start of something big we all are working together to build!
Recently joined - Kaz is fantastic. There's been basically no blockers to us shipping. Very long hours but you can feel the impact in the work you're doing
Cons
Not much right now. Things are a little chaotic but that's what I signed up for. EPD leadership is maybe a little lacking
Meaningful problems to solve. Stock upside with right macro.

Cons
996 / hustle culture amongst newer folks. Love having motivated teammates but the comp is B-tier at best (unless you’re the CEO, at 4371x the avg employee)
New product folks are a mixed bag. Some work really hard and are super sharp. Some talk about working hard and take credit for product work from others.
SF office dying through firing and resignations - expect to be asked to visit Miami and Toronto frequently.
Tenured employees seem to be assumed to be low performers
