Pros

I, like many current OpenReel employees, joined the team during a period of rapid growth. As a provider of technology for remote video capture, the shift to remote work and distributed teams led companies to discover this need that is now an integral part of their video tech stack. That growth has led to an exciting work environment, opportunity for continued organizational and individual growth, and the development of an exceptional team that truly enjoys working collaboratively to succeed. Leadership is heavily invested in ensuring the continued growth of the company and empowering all employees to contribute to the ongoing success of the company. Currently the team is distributed and fully remote, which lends itself to challenges in team building and collaboration, but the team finds creative ways to make employees feel involved and connected. The benefits and perks are strong, and always improving. In the last year additional paid holidays were added, we transitioned to an unlimited PTO model, and the unexpected perks like food delivery vouchers and swag deliveries are always great to be surprised with. Many resources have been funneled towards supporting the existing technology to meet the needs of the quickly growing customer base (which includes many large and exciting companies to work with) over the last 18 months. Now that the company has scaled the future roadmap has the company set up to excel beyond just the remote video space, which presents a lot of exciting opportunities.

Cons

As a quickly growing startup, things tend to change quickly. You need to stay on your toes to adapt to quickly changing processes, product updates, additional team members, and more. There is also an attitude of everything is everyone's job. No task is too big or too small for anyone from new hires up to top management, so you need to be prepared for all types of responsibilities. While some of those responsibilities or tasks aren't always fun, they go towards accomplishing a goal.
