Pros
free coffee and office in the centre of the city
Cons
The turn around is pathetic! I was number 27 to leave (if you dont count the one employee hired and fired 3 times) otherwise i am number 30 in less the four years just under the UK department when it only has/had 6 to 7 employees. The whole company has more than 50 employees, but does not participate in any union to protect employees. There for, they take advantage of their employees expecially the ones that are not from here nor speak the language. I once asked why there wasn't a set of rules/guidelines written, and I was told because it wasn't convient for the Spanish team. You are obligated to work on holidays although not mentioned in your contract. There are many rules that they find loop holes to get around the laws, for instance " you are not obligated to come to work on a holiday" but there are a limited amount of people that can take the local holiday off. They make you take a vacation day off on the holidays of the country you work for. Interns are exploited, in the UK team they ARE the marketing team with one person managing them. What they make isnt even enough to pay for a room in Barcelona per month and they are expected to work like full time employees. I am unsure if its the low salary or just the type of people that work there that provoke your lunches to be stolen from the fridge, and somethings have disapeared from peoples desks. There is an annoying pingpong table in the breakroom which is not big enough to have it there for it is very annoying when you just want to sit and relax from the stressful day. Your personal information isn't always in the safest hands, hence two top managers salaries with all there bonuses was left on a printer found by someone who copied it and shared it with some of us. Your NIE is given to the door man, without any approval or acknowledgement. ( i saw a list the doorman keeps with everyones NIE on it) The training is little to none, the system is quiet complicated with even just little training and learning the products is basically done on your own time or on hand with the customer on the phone. When I worked there I experienced bullying, and when I went to complain I was told nothing could be done. Even received a visit from one of the managers in my home when I was on sick leave from all the stress I had to live through to make a living. I had to put up with people coming to work stinking like alcohol which was disrespectful and the worst nothing was done about it. There isn't enough seperation of groups in the office, while trying to work in english, you hear spanish, french, dutch, italian and its very difficult to concentrate expecially if you know some of these languages very distracting. In the winter the heat is put on full blast, I have walked into the room with the heater set at 30 various times, making it extremley uncomforable to work. In the summer the aircon is not put on a decent temperture, and there are no blinds on the windows making it again extreamly uncomfortable to work with the sun blasting on you.
