Pros

Arizona Location and the managment is top-notch. (Looking.)

Cons

If one could scale up a human toddler to the size of a small to medium-size business, the resulting freakiness would act a lot like One Point Patient Care. All the cute little behaviors like not knowing what one wants and yet expecting “it” anyway? CHECK. Getting mad because one’s hungry? CHECK. Having epic meltdowns and yelling at the closest subordinate employees? CHECK PLUS. Except what is cute when done by toddlers is pretty sad when acted out by grown-ups. You will have a lot of “yikes” moments at OPPC. Chances are your hire will be, for a very little while, that shiny new thing toddlers think will make them happy. And toddler-like companies think will magically solve all their problems - real or imagined. But you shouldn’t blame OPPC exclusively. They are a tiny fish in a school of larger fish (BrightSpring) and the principal is KKR – the original predatory hedge fund. If you’ve seen the 80s classic “Wall Street” you’ll know what you’re getting into. No one gives two dimes for you or the patients or anything at all other than turning 1 dollar of investment into $1.02 – several billion times. How do predatory hedge funds do this? By firing people en masse, how did you think? Except actually firing is too much work. It’s bad PR and has bad credit outcomes with state employment agencies. So instead of outright firing, they try to make you leave. Or does anyone actually believe that canceling the coffee in the break room yields such amazing savings? If they could cancel toilet paper in the restrooms without an uprising (digestive and otherwise) they certainly would and encourage the employees to bring their own. These things make for frustrated employees whose departure is the point – not saving $0.05/cup for disgusting slightly caffeinated water.

Pros

Meaningful work supporting hospice patients with compassionate, urgent care. Opportunity to make a real difference in end-of-life comfort and symptom management. Some dedicated colleagues who care deeply about patients.

Cons

Extremely high leadership turnover: 3 different Pharmacists-in-Charge in the last 6–8 months, leading to constant shifts in expectations, inconsistent enforcement of policies, and added daily stress. Shared-facility setup with another brand creates workflow inefficiencies (e.g., overcrowded storage increasing error risk) and frequent escalations of minor, quickly resolved discrepancies that are disproportionate to the actual risk. Cultural and operational mismatch between brands results in territorial dynamics and unnecessary tension. Overall environment feels unstable and high-stress, with limited flexibility for patient-priority tasks.
