Pros

- Remote working (though they tried many times to take this away) - All hands meetings can be fun - There are some genuine people working here (though usually held back) - Office location

Cons

The company is run by a management team whose lack of experience outside of Onefile is regularly exposed by newcomers, who are subsequently pushed out the door and alienated in the work environment. The product is a convoluted mess, due in large to the lack of management guidance and vision. It is also written in aging technology which there is no appetite to address. Be wary of constant reference to technology re-write to entice during recruitment. This is simply wordsmanship as they are aware it is an unattractive proposition to work with the technology stack available. The technology department is run by a CTO who hides in the corner during important discussions. Unfortunately, near all technology managers will follow this lead to protect themselves and their roles from poor decision making. This leads to 11th hour calls on vital work and a blame culture which has encapsulated entire departments. Communication from above is poor, with mid-level managers being advised to inform staff of various controversial decisions and then senior management backing down to staff, as they wish to maintain popularity. Thus causing confusion, frustration and belittlement. There are genuinely some good people within the business fighting to make the right calls and keep the ship afloat. However, they often go unheard and are ignored as leadership at Onefile is more a popularity contest than based on skillset and correct decision making. Product management is forced to near breaking point on every sprint. Again, due to poor leadership and the reactive nature of the CTO, who is more concerned about ‘looking good’ in front of customers than doing right by the staff under his care. The company has lost and continues to lose some real talent across all departments over the last couple of years and this is in large due to the lack of support, guidance and humility shown by those sat in senior and management positions.

Pros

The people and the customers. The colleagues there, other than SLT are brilliant. I was made to feel welcome from the outset and every person was lovely. The staff are what makes it 2 stars rather than 1. The product is great and the commission structure is rewarding if you hit your numbers. Good opportunity to learn the industry if you are self-motivated.

Cons

Weekly sales meetings often involved "call-outs" that felt more like public humiliation than constructive coaching. Contradictory Feedback: I met all monthly sales targets and earned commission every month of my tenure yet was told my pipeline was insufficient during probation without prior warnings or any kind Performance Plans. Management Style: The EVP leads with a ruthless approach. One member of SLT who i got on with, lied to my face and said before the meeting that i would be ok anbd i thought i was going to be ok. I learned the product and was a willing employee - they just didnt me a chance. Another member of SLT was just indifferent to me the whole time i was there - as if i was a hindrance. While results-driven, there is a distinct lack of support or mentorship for new hires from day one, i had to get on with it - mistakes were the teaching model. Culture: A perceived "churn and burn" mentality regarding both employees and clients.

Pros

The business has a strong leadership team that is driving the company forward and actively embracing technology. The CEO, Dav, is highly visionary, with a deep understanding of the market and a clear focus on continuous progress rather than standing still. It’s a great place to work if you are motivated, want to be successful, and are prepared to put in the effort. The leadership team is highly skilled, and there is a lot to learn from them. There is a genuine passion that runs throughout the company. With the backing of Harris Computer, the business is well positioned to continue growing and evolving, with a clear shift towards a more commercial and scalable model.

Cons

As the business continues to grow, there is an ongoing shift towards a more commercial focus, which may not suit everyone, particularly those used to a more traditional or less sales-driven environment. At times, the pace of change can be fast, and expectations are high, which can be challenging for individuals who prefer more structure or stability.
