Pros
For new reps, there is a great support system behind the scenes that help send out e-mails and promos that you don't have to do as an independent rep. There is training on how to best sell multiple divisions to one customer and plan out your travel cycle. The companies send you samples and catalogs.
Cons
You have to drink the kool-aid. There is major micromanaging from a top-heavy upper management group who are just interested in the sales rep hunters, not the farmers. Too many conference calls. Working the shows are exhausting and for some reps, it's a loss of income since you spend the week helping everyone but your own customers.
