Pros

Flexible schedule and realistic work/life balance for those that worked remote. Decent pay and benefits. Teams frequently discouraged from collaborating with each other, which was a con, but it gave the team I was working on the opportunity to bond and have a lot of autonomy over the work we were producing.

Cons

Leadership is chasing revenue based on whatever trend the CEO thinks might bring in some quick cash. They're burning and churning through ideas and scraping what doesn't work within weeks of launch. It was so disappointing to see so many good ideas end up in the garbage because of a lack of long term planning and budgeting. The biggest red flag is their decision to throw all their weight behind "The Sleep Doctor," a wellness charlatan who has no business giving medical advice. These are marketing people trying to sell medical devices, be very wary of joining this team.

Pros

There was a lot I enjoyed while working at OneCare: - I gained a lot of technical knowledge and got to pursue quarterly goals that furthered my career and helped me obtain useful technical knowledge. - People were often helpful to solve challenging technical issues and when we made mistakes we learned from them and changed our processes for the better. - My managers were fair and helped me grow.

Cons

About 40 employees out of 110 were laid off suddenly in early June 2023 without warning. This was executed by the CEO giving a 2-minute Zoom call, then emails were sent to OneCare work emails, and about 15 minutes later all work services (including work emails) were deactivated. I definitely feel the company lied by omission and wasn't honest about the bad financial place they were in. They laid off many people in the IT Team but retained most or all third-party contractors from South America. From that, they appear to believe that they can have foreign workers do a lot of the job of the IT Team as they as less expensive than American workers. If I was an American worker considering working an offer OneCare, I'd run away quickly. You never know when OneCare will lay you off in the future as well.
