Pros

A metric of how a company should not act. I am now working at the kind of full-time office job One up likes to denigrate and I hope that current and prospective One-up employees can someday experience the stability, respect, fair compensation, and balance I now do.

Cons

Deceptive Hiring Process- They will not obfuscate around the actual job (street cell phone distributor) and instead sell you on a fantasy of one-day making enough money to live on. This is not only abnormal but unethical. They project the aesthetics of a normal corporation (the office, jargon, etc.), this is a facade.. Day to Day- More Manipulation Just Add Exhaustion. You will work 12 hr+ days, 6 days a week and not be compensated for the morning meeting, evening meetings, and travel expenses. Your labor is a resource and your time is valuable. The commission-per-phone "compensation" is less than minimum wage and ignores the dignity of employees. Toxic "hustle culture" mentality- Management mocks work-life balance, traditional employers, while promoting "hustle culture". Working 6 days a week for 12 hrs a day while not making minimum wage is not something to gloat about. Ask yourself, who benefits from this you, or the company owners? There is a reason why management pushes "grinding everyday" down employees throats and try to make you think that you've found this get rich opportunity hocking phone that somehow earns you less than minimum wage. "If you can't spot the sucker, the sucker IS YOU."

We apologize that your experience was less than satisfactory, however, we would like to address a few of your claims. At One Up Inc, we are honest about what we do here and with every applicant we interview. We pride ourselves on creating opportunities for our clients and team members through interactive training and mentorship opportunities. We offer a variety of compensation plans that are clearly and openly discussed with each applicant during their interview process. We are also honest and open about our compensation plans before the on-boarding process. We are not a "MLM", we have been in business for many years now and top name companies prefer to work with us. We apologize that our career opportunities did not align with your professional goals. Best of luck along your career search.

Pros

Management team was very nice and $$$ bonuses for new-hires were a nice incentive. That's pretty much it.

Cons

1)If you are o.k. with standing in the parking lot of a 99 Cent store in bad neighborhoods for 8 hours by yourself trying to get people to sign up for a free cell-phone then this is for you! If not, don't waste your time. They make it seem like they have all these opportunities for advancement and that you only have to be in the entry-level for 1-2 months until you get "promoted" to a "management" position, but once you get promoted you are still required to stand outside 99-cent stores and Food4Less's daily, just with a new title. It is a complete waste of time. 2)The hours are ridiculous; they expect you to work 6-days a week, 10-12 hours per day and you're not even guaranteed pay. No professional role will ever require you to work 60-70 hours per week without proper compensation and/or overtime pay. Not to mention, they don't even pay you an hourly rate. There's no base-pay so you can work an entire 10-12 hour day and make NO money if you weren't able to sign anyone up for a free phone (which isn't as easy as it sounds). How is that even legal? Pretty sure this is an MLM scheme.
