Overly Strict, Pretentious, and Micromanaging—Not a Positive Work Environment - Project Manager One Rockwell Employee Review

I felt like One Rockwell really had their act together. The management is incredible and quality of work put out my the agency is top notch. I felt like the designers, project managers, and developers are all extremely talented.

I personally didn't not enjoy working with Magento or Wordpress as a developer. With that being said, they are platforms that do their jobs really well for certain use cases. Maybe be open to exploring other options because the tech felt a little cumbersome at times.

The only positive about this company is the coworkers/people I met.

Working here as a PM was a decision I deeply regret. I ignored the red flags in other reviews, and unfortunately, everything negative I read turned out to be true. I was even contacted by former PMs who warned me about the toxic work environment, but I didn’t listen—and now I wish I had. The management here is by far the worst I’ve experienced, even compared to large tech companies I’ve worked at. The environment is so toxic it affected my mental health—I couldn’t sleep because I was constantly worrying about work and how to meet impossible expectations. It was never enough. My manager micromanaged everything, never took accountability for mistakes, and frequently shifted the blame onto us (PMs). Asking questions felt like a trap; I was often told, “You should know this,” in a way that made me feel belittled and unsupported. It’s baffling how someone with such poor leadership skills holds a senior position here. This place was draining and demoralizing. If you’re considering working here, please take the negative reviews seriously—they’re not exaggerations. You will not get anything good out of this company.
