Pros

Jumping into a project as a freelancer, midstream, and under a tight deadline, means there's very little time for team-building. In our initial call, Michael put me at ease and established the parameters of the project clearly, setting us both up for success. His critiques and guidance were considered and constructive. And when the "room" opened up to include more team members, the flow was maintained. We were writing comedy in this instance, and I've been around creatives and clients who understand comedy, but really don't ENJOY the process. Michael and his team clearly dig what they do, and set a high bar for creative, so the enthusiasm is contagious.

Cons

There was no real downside to this experience.

Pros

A small shop like One Eighteen isn't for everyone, but if you are a hard-working, independent go-getter, you will have success here. You will get out of it what you put into it. With a small team like this, you have the ability to work directly with smart and talented peers and with experts in the field with decades of experience and knowledge and can learn a lot, quickly. If you like corporate environments with a bureautic structure, you won't like One Eighteen. This agency is deliberately lean and attracts a certain type of team member who isn't afraid to wear a lot of hats to get the job done. Each person makes up a bit of the culture and although the team ebbs and flows in size, when the right people click, we know how to have a great time in the office "Beach House".

Cons

Unfortunately there is a fair amount of turnover, like there is in all agencies, but with a smaller team that can be a lot tougher on those who stay.
