Pros

I've worked for One Day Creative for around three years as a freelance scriptwriter. In that time I've been given the opportunity to work on some of the most enjoyable and creatively challenging work I have been lucky enough to undertake. One Day provide me with clear and helpful guidance about what they need to produce enjoyable, dynamic, and educational work that enables young people to learn through creative activity. At the same time I am given the freedom and encouragement to write in a way that I feel will best serve the learners' needs. The interaction with One Day is always supportive and friendly. As a freelancer an important factor is being made to feel like you're part of the organisation and not just a 'hired-hand'. From day one I've felt like my creative contribution is welcomed and appreciated. I look forward to a continued association with One Day Creative, helping me to continue developing the scriptwriting skills that I then bring to other theatre writing projects.

Cons

Does there always have to be a downside? For instance, I can't think of a single downside to Donald Trump being President of the U.S. 🤔😳😢 ... ah ... or maybe I can ... so, since you ask, the downside here is: there aren't more companies with One Day's positive ethos operating in the creative industries.

Pros

Sometimes being a freelancer you can experience feeling rather alone out on the road working. One Day are the first creative company I have worked for as a freelancer that have really made me feel part of a team, all working towards a 'bigger picture'. They make sure you KNOW you are part of that. You are only a click, phone or private social media group away from someone to connect! There is a real sense of community, sharing and I have personally developed continuously whilst working for them. I am a better facilitator after the support and training I have received and my area leader always has the time to speak through my ideas and approach to workshops. Their content packs have been researched well and developed to cater for your unique approach and the schools needs!

Cons

I really can't think of any. If you want the flexibility of being a freelancer but the support and rewards of being an employee this is the perfect job. They have brilliant company values and a culture that extends to everyone working for them. Oh and they ALWAYS have work for you.
