Flexible but at what cost? - Health Coach Omada Health Employee Review

Pros

It was flexible, remote. That’s it.

Cons

Salary discrepancy between health coaches who are supposedly the back bone of the company and the rest of the company, limited opportunities to move into different positions. Different expectations between different managers on the health coaching team that lead to promotions not being prioritized or advocated for. To move up you have to do essentially the job you are applying for while most employees in those positions don’t do what they are asking. Good job performance and positive feedback from teams should be enough to qualify for a position without having to literally do the duties of the position without compensation.

Pros

Lots of smart people, great mission, digital health company that's balancing clinical evidence with tech growth.

Cons

Less of a con, more of a heads up to make sure your role is truly valued during the interview process. Try to gauge how much cross-functional buy-in is needed for you to have impact. As with most startups, layoffs happen and if you're struggling to get projects started because there's no internal support, your role is at risk.
