Thank you for taking the time to share a review, we appreciate it! Looks like your familiar with our benefits and clubs, we're pretty proud that all our social clubs are employee-led! While we fund all the equipment and space needed, it's our Olstars that champion and organise things like our football team and book club. We really champion our team to be able to build and add to our culture. Being an ecommerce business, we know that workloads change around peak trading months. It can be challenging, and we appreciate your dedication and hard work during these periods. Each year we improve our processes and ensure that our employees have the necessary support and resources to make it through peak period and celebrate all that we achieve in a busy, but awesome, time! Thanks again for your feedback.

Pros

Open minded business with progressive view on what a workplace to be. Generally nice people and flexibility. Opportunity to take ownership and some members of leadership do listen to ideas, even if they do not necessarily implement them.

Cons

Operates in a competitive industry but still tends to rely on copying competitors as opposed to pursuing its strategy or niche. Lacks its own identity Lack of transparency around layoffs and poor handling around how these were communicated. Continue to post publicly about their great culture after doing layoffs in such a manner. The people are very nice but ultimately fickle and a real culture hardly existed. The CEOs are young and fresh but do not like being challenged, even by those who have more experience. Close to zero development opportunities - you can do a year or two here but will eventually need to leave as they will not deliver on promises for development unless you are one of the CEOs favourites.

Thank you so much for taking the time to give detailed feedback, it really is valuable to us and we are committed to listening to each review we receive. Firstly, it's great that you feel we're a progressive workplace, with flexibility, nice people and ownership opportunities! We're continually building and nurturing our culture and it's sad that despite the positives you mention, the culture wasn't what you needed. Our engagement and pulse surveys collect anonymous feedback from our teams monthly, so we'd love to think that some of your feedback has already been taken onboard and used for good from the time you were at Olsam. You've taken the time to give some broad-ranging feedback and we're not sure any comment here would give you the dynamic response we feel is needed. We'd love to invite you to reach out (hr@olsamgroup.com) to set-up a call so we can discuss and understand further. Thanks, Olsam
