This job is not for a family man when starting this as a new job. No consistency in a work schedule. You work nights then days all in the same week. Remember they are working off of your 70hr. You could work 6 days a week or 4 days. The linehaul department is supposed to pick each extra board driver on first in first out. Good luck on that. Dispatchers have there go to guys and no matter if they come in behind you they will leave the next day first. If you do find yourself at OD as a linehaul driver try to take a bag run so you can deal with central dispatch, they are the bright spot of dispatching for extra board drivers in Dallas. Season drivers remember YOU WILL BE ON CALL EVERY DAY AS A EXTRA BOARD DRIVER.
