Pros

It's hot and humid. It's beautiful, but you don't get to partake in any of it. They even have side entrances for the help.

Cons

The pay is terrible, unless you are in upper management. I worked at the beach bar as a bartender, and it was a it pool that includes every bartender in the whole resort, the cocktail servers, the banquet servers, and the managers and supervisors. YEP! The managers get a share of your tips. How much, it's hard to say, because you will never know exactly how badly they are screwing you over, but considering my average pay after taxes and rent was $50 a day, they must take a lot!!! I put in my two weeks, and was told to leave in 2 days and that I was not allowed to work my last two weeks. I guess they do that all the time. My suggestion, if you are dumb enough to work here, just bolt in the night, or you will get screwed. The managers are incompetent and crazy. Micromanagement is their style, and it will drive you crazy. I spent more money to move and start this job than I made in 6 weeks. I can't say enough about how bad it is. And yet, some people here are happy to make $12 an hour. Most workers are poor and black, and I think that that is how the management likes it. They don't know how badly they are getting screwed, and they have no options. Jamaicans and Haitians mostly. It's really sad, and creates a creepy feeling that these "have nots" are serving all these "haves" and with a big smile on their faces, and the whole lot love it. Disgusting.

Pros

Onsite housing and food is really good. Upper management is accessible and responsive. Good trainings provided for free. The benefit package for full timers is great. You can use a lot of the amenities in the off season.

Cons

It’s a tough place to work because of the high expectations and standards, but you should know what you’re signing up for. They genuinely care about how you’re treated as long as you’re performing for them. It’s a good place to grow if you play your cards right. Do what you’re supposed to and be consistent and you’ll be rewarded. Slack off and be prepared not to get away with it.
