Pros

I feel really valued at the company, I think they really value technical skills and it has a great engineering culture as a consequence. The company is about changing cyber security rather than just cranking the handle on a generic product. The leadership team at Obsidian is fantastic, our CTO recently said to me in a private conversation that he wants Obsidian to be "leadership factory". I really see that in the way that the leadership team approach delegation and team autonomy without losing accountability. The company is growing really fast so I'm constantly exposed to new skill sets and ways of thinking, and consequently feel like I'm growing a lot in the role. Using exciting new technologies and there's a lot of freedom of choice when it comes to how we build as well as what we're going to build. People really care about what we are building, and as a result, people always go the extra mile.

Cons

Due to the nature of being a fast moving start-up it can sometimes be a bit chaotic, but the leadership are responsive and proactive. We were probably too large and flat, consequently we moved into small cross functional teams. This is made a huge difference, and I've really enjoyed having ownership over a part of the product.

Pros

The total addressable market for Obsidian is exceptional. The organization's focus on third-party security, combined with its Agentic AI Security solution, presents a compelling opportunity to sell a differentiated offering that every Fortune 2000 company needs. For individual contributors seeking meaningful impact and a hands-on role, this is an outstanding place to work — with strong earning potential to match.

Cons

Leadership's deep passion for the mission can occasionally come across as intense, but that drive is a feature, not a flaw. A committed executive team focused on building something meaningful is far preferable to one simply coasting toward an exit.

Pros

I've carried a bag at a lot of companies. Nothing comes close to what's been built here — and it starts with leadership that actually gets it. Our CRO, Brian Murphy, is the real deal. He leads with clarity, conviction, and a genuine respect for the people on the front lines. Brian doesn't just set targets and disappear — he's in the trenches with you, removing blockers, elevating the team, and making sure every rep has what they need to win. You feel supported from the top down in a way that's incredibly rare in sales organizations. The culture he's built is one where accountability and trust go hand in hand. On the go-to-market side, Alison Tierney's Global GTM Strategy is truly best-in-class. The alignment between sales, marketing, and the broader business is something I've never experienced anywhere else. Alison brings a level of strategic rigor and cross-functional coordination that means we're not just selling — we're winning the right deals, in the right markets, with the right message. It makes a massive difference when you're out there talking to customers. The impact you can make here as a sales professional is unmatched. Real deals, real revenue, and work that visibly moves the company forward. If you're serious about your sales career and want to be part of something special, this is the place.

Cons

None that I can think of
